Corpses

Many corpses by the school entrance. February 20th, 2019.

A corpse is the body left behind when an NPC is killed in Yandere Simulator.

To keep the atmosphere high and stop the police from arriving on school grounds, corpses must be hidden from everyone's sight and disposed of by the end of the day.

Types of Corpses[]

Regular Homicide[]

Main Article: Homicide

If Ayano attacks somebody using a weapon, the weapon and her uniform will be bloodied and the corpse will bleed as she drags it. The corpse can be carried, leaving only the single pool of blood from the initial attack. A blowtorch can be used to perform cauterization on a corpse so that it does not leave a blood trail. If Ayano attacks a student with a blunt weapon, the corpse will not bleed and her uniform will not be bloody.

Fake Suicide[]

Main Article: Fake Suicide

A fake suicide victim's corpse will also bleed unless they fall into a dumpster.

Attempted Kidnapping[]

Main Article: Kidnapping

If Ayano's Biology skill is lower than Rank 2 and she uses a syringe on a student, she will "accidentally" kill them. If she is with her victim in the gym storage room, but does not close the door, her victim will die. They will also die if she stops them from following her, then attempts to tranquilize them, or if the target is a male. Their corpse will also bleed when dragged.

To prevent Ayano from accidentally killing her victim, a 'Kidnapping Checklist' will appear onscreen when entering the northeast storage room on the first floor, telling her if she is currently meeting all of the criteria to perform a kidnapping or not. If Ayano doesn't meet all the criteria, she will kill the victim instead.

Drowned[]

Main Article: Drowning

Drowned victims do not bleed, as drowning does not create any external wounds.

Burnt[]

Main Article: Burning

After any student has died from burning to death, their corpse will slowly turn black. After a minute has passed, they will be pure black and no more flames will appear on their body.

Electrocuted[]

Main Article: Electrocution

Victims of electrocution do not bleed, and their corpse will smoke slightly instead.

Poisoned[]

Main Article: Poisoning

Victims of poisoning do not bleed. If Ayano does not touch the corpse and a student sees it, they will call their teacher regardless of their persona. The teacher will call the paramedics instead of the police, because they have no reason to believe the victim was murdered. In the future, students may call Nasu (or Muja if it's Week 6) instead of their teacher.[1]

Choosing to move a poisoned corpse will make it function like any other corpse, except that it will not bleed. It can be hidden and disposed of, and anybody who sees Ayano dragging the corpse will react based on their persona.

Murder-Suicide[]

Main Article: Suicide

When Ayano hands a weapon to a mind-broken student, the student will kill whoever Ayano chooses, and then will kill herself. There will be two corpses as a result, but Ayano will not be bloody or have lost sanity. If the police timer appears, she does not need to dispose of her weapon or uniform. Murder-suicides are more difficult to hide than other methods, as there are two corpses to hide instead of one.

Dismembered Corpses[]

Main Article: Dismemberment

Once Ayano kills a student, she has the option to dismember the corpse with a circular saw. Once cut up, the dismembered victim will be in six sections: right arm, left arm, head, torso, left leg, and right leg. Ayano can only carry one part at a time. Students that find a dismembered corpse on the ground will tell their teacher, and will later call the police. Any other students that witness the dismembered limb will run to their classrooms.

Hiding Corpses[]

Bodies can be hidden in dumpsters (currently only fake suicide victims), bathroom stalls, and lockers. If the corpse is not hidden and Ayano goes to class, the corpse will be discovered, a police investigation will occur, and the day will end.

YandereSimJune15th 2016-06-16 13-14-32-982

The text that appears if the player failed to dispose of a corpse properly.

When dragging corpses through the hallways, students and teachers in their classrooms will see Ayano unless the classroom doors are closed.

Hiding corpses is only a temporary solution, as they will still be found at the end of the day unless they are disposed of.

Originally, corpses weren't going to be able to be hidden in lockers as Japanese lockers are too small.[2]

Disposing of Corpses[]

New Dumping Animation

Dumping a corpse into the incinerator.

There are currently five ways to permanently dispose of a corpse: through the dumpster (only available through pushing off roof),[3] through burning in the incinerator, through the wood chipper, through dissolving in the vat of acid, and through the sewer. There is also the vegetable garden for burying bodies, but this was always meant to be a temporary method. So far, only fake suicide victims can be disposed of through dumpsters. Ayano must cover their body with a garbage bag. To dispose of a corpse through the incinerator, she must dump the body inside and activate it. If any student is killed on the rooftop, she can dump their body from the roof from the east or west sides and bring it to the incinerator.

If the police are called, Ayano has five minutes to dispose of the corpse. Unless she is able to bathe herself in the girls' Shower Room, dispose of her bloody uniform, and dispose of the murder weapon, she will be linked to the murder and arrested by the police. The School Atmosphere will be lowered if she does not dispose of the corpse, or if the death is determined to be a homicide and the killer is not apprehended. If she frames another student or rival for the murder and they are apprehended, the School Atmosphere will not be affected.

If Ayano disposes of the corpse without anyone noticing it, the police will not be called, but failure to clean up other incriminating evidence will lead to lower School Atmosphere.

NPC Reactions[]

Anybody who sees Ayano dragging or carrying a corpse will immediately assume she murdered the victim. They will react more quickly if the School Atmosphere is low.[4]

Personas[]

Coward[]

Main Article: Coward

If a Coward (such as Otohiko & Hazu) notices Ayano holding a corpse, they will beg for their life before fleeing the school, and they won't call the police. If they discover a corpse, they will run out of school and call the police just like a Loner or Violent.

Violent[]

Main Article: Violent

If any Violent student (such as Umeji) sees Ayano holding a corpse, they will immediately initiate a combat mini-game and will run out of school after Ayano beats them. If they discover a student's corpse, they will flee the school just like a Loner or Coward. This doesn't happen if Ayano is carrying the corpse of one of the bullies (unless when all of the bullies are dead that are exception for Kokoro on the previous day).

Spiteful[]

Main Article: Spiteful

If a Spiteful student (such as Borupen) sees a corpse, they will run out of school and call the police unless the student killed was someone they disliked. If they see the player carrying a corpse, they will flee from the school unless the student they killed was someone they hate.

Heroic[]

Feb21st2016Hero

Shima Shiya struggling with Yandere-chan. February 21st, 2016.

Main Article: Heroic

If a Heroic student (such as Budo) sees the player hold a corpse, they will remain shocked for several seconds before running to Ayano in an attempt to restrain her. If they succeed, she will get the "Apprehended" Game Over. If they witness a corpse, they will run and tell a teacher like a Teacher's Pet unless another student already reported.

Loner[]

Main Article: Loner

If a Loner (such as Kyuji) sees a corpse, they will pause in shock for a few seconds before running out of the school gates and calling the police, just like the Coward or Violent persona.

Regardless of the persona, if any student witnesses Ayano commit murder before entering the school and changing their shoes, they will immediately run away from Ayano and the school and call the police.

Protective[]

Raibaru is the only student that has protective persona. If Raibaru witnesses Ayano commit murder, she will run up to Ayano and apprehend her, without the struggle of mini-games. This also happens if Ayano tries to kill her, as she will apprehend her afterwards, regardless of how high Ayano's Physical Education stat is.

If Raibaru discovers a corpse, she will find Osana and tell her that there is a killer in the school and will flee out of school unless she witnesses Osana's corpse (just like Senpai when he sees Osana's corpse).

If Raibaru discovers a corpse but does not witness Ayano commit murder and if Osana died the previous day, she will run up to her teacher, report that there was a corpse on school grounds, and locate them to her discoveries of the corpse. Afterwards, her teacher and Raibaru will stay there until the police have arrived.

Student Council Members (a.k.a Dangerous)[]

Main Articles: Student Council & Dangerous

If a student council member (such as Kuroko) witnesses Ayano commit murder or carrying a dead body, they will run up to Ayano and pepper spray her, leading to a game over.

If a student council member discovers a corpse, they will run to report to their teachers about their discoveries of the corpse like a Teacher's Pet. Afterwards, their teacher will guard the body with the student council and stay there until the police arrive or might go back to her daily routine due to the corpse being moved while the Student Council is reporting to the teacher.

Phone Addict[]

Main Article: Phone Addict
Phoneaddicttimer

Kashiko Murasaki texting the police. February 2nd, 2018.

If a Phone Addict (such as Mai & Hana) sees a corpse, they will snap a picture of it and text the image to the police. If a Phone Addict witnesses Ayano commit murder without their phone, they will run out of school and call the police like a Loner, Coward or Violent student. If any other student, regardless of their persona, has their phone out while Ayano is murdering someone or sees a corpse, they will also snap a photo and text it to the police, but they will take twice as long, resulting in more time to get them. A timer will appear above them, showing how much time Ayano has before the police are called. They can be delayed by asking Info-chan for a favor. They will search outside the school, as Info-chan will give them false information, and Ayano will have five more minutes to complete the steps.

Teacher's Pet[]

Main Article: Teacher's Pet

If a Teacher's Pet (such as Yaku Zaishi) sees a corpse, they will pause in shock for several seconds before running to their teacher to report what they saw. If a teacher's pet discovers that all of the teachers are dead, they will quickly run out of school and call the police.

If a teacher, led by a Teacher's Pet, finds the corpse where the Teacher's Pet saw it, they will call the police and stand guard over it until the police arrive, making it difficult for Ayano to dispose of it. If a teacher sees Ayano dragging a corpse, they will attempt to apprehend her. If Ayano has upgraded her physical education enough, she will be able to fight back.

Senpai[]

Main Article: Senpai

If Senpai sees Ayano dragging a corpse, he will be horrified, resulting in the "Heartbroken" Game Over. If he sees a corpse but does not witness Ayano doing something suspicious or kill someone, he will run out of the school gates and call the police, like all other Loners. However, if Senpai sees Osana's dead body, he will run up to it and call the police (though Senpai in 1980s mode will only sob on the rivals' death), then sob over his childhood's friend death.

Social Butterfly[]

Main Article: Social Butterfly

If a Social Butterfly discovers a corpse, they will run to a crowded area before calling the police. If they see Ayano chasing after them after they witness her commit murder, they will be terrified and tell her to stay away, alerting the other students. If Ayano kills any other students, they will immediately curl up into a ball in fear.

Snitch[]

Main Article: Snitch

This persona is a replacement of Social Butterfly in 1980s mode. If any student with this persona witnesses Ryoba commit murder or sees a corpse, they will run to the faculty room and call the police using the landline phone. They will stay there being guarded by the faculty members until the police arrives, making it impossible to kill them in front of the faculty members.

Bugs[]

  • The corpses follow a ragdoll animation, which will sometimes break and cause the corpses to stretch and glitch while they are being dragged. YandereDev is well aware of this problem and will not respond to any bug reports about them.
  • When picking up a corpse, sometimes the body will fail to sync with the player's arms, meaning that the body will continue to float in front of the player as if she was holding them.
  • Corpses may glitch through walls.
  • When the player carries a corpse of a mind-slave or it's victim, the player will be blamed for it.

Trivia[]

  • Any student who is killed with a ritual knife will emit grey mist.
  • In the future, Ayano may be able to report corpses to a teacher, but this will cause the day to end, so the player will miss any important events that take place during the rest of the school day.[5]
    • As of February 19th, 2021 Build, it is now possible for Ayano to report corpses to a teacher.
  • In the future, Ayano may earn cash from looting corpses.[6]
  • As of June 1st, 2021 Build, a student that found to be dead will result the flower vase put in their desk who were dead.
  • In the future, if a teacher discovers a corpse, there may be a PA announcement about their discovery.[7]
  • As of February 19th, 2021 Build, if even a single corpse is discovered, then it will drastically lower the school atmosphere and slowly add security cameras and metal detectors, due to YandereDev noticing gameplays of players not disposing the corpse too much so he will most likely add it to balance it out and punish players who don't dispose them.
